Limits of automatic reconstruction
PDF stores fixed page positions while EPUB uses a flexible text structure. Multi-column layouts, tables, formulas and scans therefore cannot be reconstructed perfectly. OCR is not included.

Do scanned PDFs work?
No. Without an existing text layer BookForge cannot recognise text because OCR is not included.
Are images included?
Image extraction can be enabled. Position and order may differ from the original in complex PDFs.
